The seismic mass for a Spindle Coupled Road Simulator can either rest on air springs as shown (recommended) or on a gravel bed without any vibration isolation. In most applications the concrete block is covered with cast iron floor plates. X-Y positioning systems make it convenient to adjust for different track widths and wheel bases to accommodate a large variety of different cars.
